    My Grandmother and Great GrandFather were both Wilthew.

      Many thanks for your comment Guy. My apologies for not replying sooner: I took an extended break due to having my first child, moving home and changing job. I believe I had an email some time ago from a descendent of one of Gerard Hubert Guy Wilthew’s brothers, adn responded about what I had found of that family. I’d be very interested if you know anything of the origin of the “Wilthew” name in your family, as I believe there is an interesting story around their father, Walter Smith / Walter Wilthew-Smith. I may add a short post in the near future as to what I have found already from census and newspaper reports for this family, but I would love to unravel the Wilthew connection further.
